WINTER 2008 COURSE: How to Design and Teach
High-Impact Training Programs
Format: Two-day session
Who should attend? Anyone responsible for
learning and development, creating courses, training trainers,
or supporting in-firm coaching.
What is this seminar?
Could your in-house
training programs have more impact? Do your trainers need to improve
their teaching skills? Do your managers need help ensuring that
new learning is actually used on the job? This course offers learning
that will help you improve your in-firm training programs in three
ways:
-
Better teaching skills and methods for trainers
-
Improved curriculum
design and delivery tools
-
Coaching tools for managers to boost
on-the-job use of new learning
Our professional development experts,
Joe Rei, Cheryl May and “employer
of choice” specialist and author, Leigh Branham, will teach
you:
-
how to design training programs that have a performance impact,
-
ways
to improve the programs you already have,
-
how to train others to
teach your courses effectively,
-
coaching methods for managers to
support on the job use of new tools.
We'll use our considerable
experience in Project Management training as the focus for this
course. Leigh Branham will use his recent research in PM competencies
to help you understand how to:
-
identify the competencies your firm
needs to have,
-
relate those competencies to the firm's current capacity
and identify knowledge gaps,
-
develop the capacity to fill those
knowledge gaps through training and coaching methods.
You will
learn how to design training programs that have a performance
impact on your firm, how to improve the programs you already have,
how to support that learning through coaching on the job.
While
the topic for this session is Project Management, this skill
set can be used to develop any training curriculum
and prepare trainers to teach any topic.
